Active Community Health Center’s Individual and Family Therapy programs give children and their families a chance to reconnect and learn how to rebuild their relationships.
Our specialized programs help children, teens, and their families cope with challenges of mental illness and emotional disturbances. Our expert treatment teams provide assessments, individual, family, and group therapy, and medication evaluation and management. We also work closely with schools, social services, and other caregivers to ensure proper care is received in order to help children overcome obstacles that affect their ability to learn and thrive in life.
Individual and Family Therapy
Services are offered to families with children and adolescents to help them reduce emotional problems which are often reflected in behavioral problems displayed at home, school and the community at large. These weekly sessions help the individual and family identify triggers, learn and implement techniques to become stable and growth as functional individual and families. Services are provided by Master’s level practitioners, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists.
Group therapy services include the provision of cognitive or behavioral supportive interventions to the client or the client’s family. Group therapy includes educating, sharing clinical information and guidance on how to assist the client.
Intense Therapeutic Behavioral On-Site Services (TBOSS)
This service is intended to prevent clients who have complex needs from requiring placement in a more intensive, restrictive behavioral health setting. This treatment includes the client and the client’s family, guardian, caregivers and professionals involved in providing services. Client received at least twice a week therapy ether at home, school and places where client is experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties.
